Solo Practitioner

Jocelyne Marina Agbeko

REGISTERED MIDWIFE, SOLO PRACTITIONER(she/her)

I am a Ghanaian midwife with over a decade of experience. I began my midwifery journey in a rural community and expanded into a  hospital setting after receiving my formal midwifery education. Over the last five years, I have been involved in private collaborative practice while also serving as a midwifery clinical instructor at one of Ghana's leading privately-owned universities.

  • What captivates me about midwifery is the incredible honour of being chosen by expectant families to join them in their birthing journey, witnessing the miracle of a new generation coming into the world. I believe in fostering a fear-free and empowering birth experience, with the power remaining in the hands of the birthing person. To me, birth is an intimate, chaotic, yet peaceful journey. My goal is to empower expectant parents so that they can make informed decisions about pregnancy, labour, postpartum, and infant care. Recognizing the uniqueness of each family, I prioritize establishing a safe and comfortable connection with the birthing person and their chosen family. I recognize the value of collaborative and interdisciplinary care when it is required to provide holistic support to my clients.

When I am not studying or dancing with my two amazing little girls, I enjoy travelling and  immersing myself in fictional novels that transport me to different worlds.
